Our Breeding History
Inspired
by the breeding directors of Germany and under the masterful
direction of Dr. David Pugh, Westbrooke Farm and the Equine
Reproduction and Fertility Clinic were extremely fortunate to stand
many quality Warmblood stallions. Some of our most well-known
stallions included Falco (Hanoverian), Peron (Trakehner), Kommandeur/Manchester
(approved Dutch and Holsteiner).
To begin our Oldenburg breeding program we hand-selected imported
Warmblood broodmares and carefully chose our stallions to meet our
stringent requirements. Fresh, cooled or frozen semen has
consistently produced premium foals that have won accolades for
themselves and their new owners across the U.S. including Alaska.
Today, Westbrooke Farm’s breeding goal is to continue to follow the
German philosophy to ensure that our Sport Horse foals are athletic,
intelligent and correct in conformation and retain a wonderful
disposition. As of 2008, Westbrooke Farm foals have received over 28
premium awards including Signature, the 2004 USDF number two horse
of the year.
